Estrella Gutierrez is a 1st year UCLA transfer student from Pasadena City College (PCC). She is a proud first-generation Latina from the San Gabriel Valley, pursuing a bachelor’s in Political Science. Previously, she had the privilege of serving as the Student Advisory Leader with PCC’s Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) Student Advisory Equipo, working with Latinx students and within the institution to ensure that the needs and concerns of Latinx students were advocated for through working committees and projects. Estrella is excited to offer her experience to UCLA’s HSI initiative to ensure that the needs of all students, and Latinx, low-income, first-generation students in particular, are advocated for during these tumultuous times. She is committed to ensuring that students and their communities excel in higher education and beyond.
